Hi all,
I know that we haven't had much event lately, but hey; good news. This Sunday, 16th of September, we'll be having a BBQ event. Not just to welcome our new members a.k.a. first year juniors, but also to celebrate HARI MALAYSIA which happens to fall on the same day. Also take this chance to meet new friends, connect back with your long lost friends who's away over the summer.
The BBQ will consist of some grilled CHICKEN, SAUSAGES and REFRESHMENTS. And later that day, we'll be celebrating the Mooncake Festival with some mooncake and then lighting up a few lanterns.
There will be an 'entrance' fee of 4CAD to join the events.
And also, we will be collecting this year's MASAT membership fee which is 6 CAD (first year students is exempted)
See you this Sunday!

The evening after the graduation session for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, MASAT held a special dinner for our respective just-graduated students. About 20 of the graduating students attended this dinner. Along with parents and friends, the dinner was spectacular.
The food was catered from Pickle Barrel, a famous restaurant. The attendees was being served with a 3 course meal. The main dish were either the special Avocado Salsa Chicken Breast or their delicious Salmon Teriyaki.
Between the meals, our President, Wen Cheng Chong gave his speech; congratulating all the students for their achievement. Then, several graduated students came out to the front and gave probably their last speech in MASAT event. Among the important message from them is that we have to think about why do we do whatever we are doing, because its the cause that's important.
That's it. So long all graduating students. Till we meet again. "SELAMAT MAJU JAYA!!!"
About 20 or so of MASAT members graduated yesterday. This convocation session was the largest group of our members to graduate, as it consists of Engineering students; which make up about two-third of MASAT members.
The Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering session was broken into two session, the Morning session for Civil, Mining, Mechanical & Industrial and Material Science department, and the Afternoon session; for Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical and Engineering Science departments.
Despite the hotter than average weather yesterday, every graduating students cannot hide their smile of joy as this is the moment they'd been waiting for the four, five years of studying.
Parents, family members and friends were present to support them. Thanks to all of you, yesterday's ceremony was a memorable one.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! to all graduated students; from our first session (UTM students) till yesterday's session. To those who'll or already went back home, hopefully we'll bump into each other in the future. To the one's staying in Toronto, we'll keep in contact. There's much to learnt from all of you guys.
As of now, goodbye and see you guys soon.

Meanwhile in the afternoon session, another two students were graduating. We would have another one, but she had gone back early to Malaysia. Anyway, thank you to all other members who came by to celebrate together with these graduated students. It was so much fun with many people around. Not to forget the family members who came by all the way from Malaysia. Thanks so much.

MASAT held the annual Chinese New Year dinner on January 22, 2012. There were about 100 attendees for that dinner, held at Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant. It started at 7.30pm, first with tossing of yee sang (prepared by us, students not the restaurant !!!).
Then we went into the 10 course meals, followed by a table-to-table yam seng toast by MASAT execs, wishing everyone prosperity. There was a karaoke session after the meal where the attendees can show their singing prowess. The function ended at around 11pm.
