MyMAC vs MASAT: Match Report

MASAT players dressed in white.
Its been a week ago, but I can's still the sting. MyMAC invited us to yet another friendly soccer match with them in their campus. We couldn't resist but to agree. We picked the best among us; they picked theirs. Historically, we had no chance against them. Two head-to-head; two losses. Not good.

They said third time's a charm. Well, not this time. MASAT players gave their best to snatch back the bragging rights, but failed.

I would say we were the superior side on the first half. Although we didn't score, everyone controlled the ball, keep the ball possession, and making the opponent frustrated for not be able to harm our side. Except for one great through ball that find Azmil, the opponent center forward free. Good thing that our goalkeeper kept the ball safe.

Starting the second half, MyMAC started to show their talent, bring the ball more often to our penalty box. We replied by threatening them more. Which results in an own goal by them a few minutes after. 0-1. We're up.

We don't want to stop there. Both teams built up their attacks from time to time. And unfortunately for us, there were awarded a penalty due to a controversial handball call from the referee. Azmil took the penalty well on the right, made it level 1-1.

Coming to the end of the match, each team failed to make a breakthrough to be the tie-breaker. Well, not until a quick counter attack by MyMAC, which finds Affan unmarked, and he slotted the ball into the net. 1-2. The score stayed the same even after some promising attack on our end. It's sad that we're lost but at least everyone had fun. A challenge to MASAT so that we will train harder to win it next time.

Quick glance on the foods. Yummy!
After a little downpour after the match, all of us gather at one of MyMAC students' house to have a BBQ. Well, since it's raining they actually grill everything inside. Which was still fine. The foods, which ranges from Roasted Turkey (which tasted delicious) to Mac and Cheese to Red Velvet cake. Too much choice I can't even put everything in one plate.

Thanks to everyone who organized this great event, the one who prepared the food; MyMAC committee, Aunty Rahidah and family, MASAT supporters, and also everyone who came to the event.
