Salam Aidilfitri 2013

Great turnout at the event. Event started a bit later than the scheduled 2:30 PM (apologize from us as organizer), but I do believe that everyone didn't regret coming to the event.

After the opening prayer recitation by Ustaz Jamir, representatives (in this case, their President) from MASAT, MyMAC and CMA took turn in delivering their speech to about 130 attendees. Then, thanks to Uncle Howard as the owner of Restoran Malaysia; everyone get to taste authentic Malaysian dishes. Among them were 'Kari Ayam', 'Sambal Udang Petai', 'Mee Goreng' and 'Keropok Ikan'. I think I speak on behalf of everyone that I wish I can have the same kind of food everyday here in Canada. But, nevertheless a big big thank you to Uncle Howard. You're the best!

Some time later, when everyone's full; it's time for the performances. First up, 'Pantun' Competition by CMA Youth where the audience get to answer questions using 'Pantun'. This triggered a lot of funny and creative impromptu 'Pantun' which get them a surprise present when they get the answer right. Next up was song performance by MASAT's own gentlemen. Five of them (Zahir, Fathuddin, Muzakkir, Irfan & Amin), sang two famous 'Raya' songs by Raihan; "Lebaran Ini" and "Satu Pagi di Hari Raya". Not the best group singer in the world but, it did the job. Thanks to Irfan and Amin (both are 1st year) who volunteered to join the group with less than 10 hours notice before the event.

Salam Aidilfitri 2013 ended around 6:00 PM. On behalf of everyone who came (some even drove all the way from Ottawa) and made the event happened. Hope you guys had fun in the event and will come to our future events.
