The games will be held on Ultrasport Centre and Agincourt Badminton Centre at Scarborough (do not be worried, as they're both next to each other and along the TTC line).

Registration will be opened soon, in which we'll update you guys later. But, for now if anyone wants further information on this event; do visit the official website; MY Canada Games 2012, and their Facebook page; MCG2012.

MASAT 2012 Graduation Dinner

The evening after the graduation session for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, MASAT held a special dinner for our respective just-graduated students. About 20 of the graduating students attended this dinner. Along with parents and friends, the dinner was spectacular.

The food was catered from Pickle Barrel, a famous restaurant. The attendees was being served with a 3 course meal. The main dish were either the special Avocado Salsa Chicken Breast or their delicious Salmon Teriyaki.

Between the meals, our President, Wen Cheng Chong gave his speech; congratulating all the students for their achievement. Then, several graduated students came out to the front and gave probably their last speech in MASAT event. Among the important message from them is that we have to think about why do we do whatever we are doing, because its the cause that's important.

That's it. So long all graduating students. Till we meet again. "SELAMAT MAJU JAYA!!!"

Then we went into the 10 course meals, followed by a table-to-table yam seng toast by MASAT execs, wishing everyone prosperity. There was a karaoke session after the meal where the attendees can show their singing prowess. The function ended at around 11pm.

Report : Malaysian Bazaar 2012

Last Friday, MASAT has successfully held one of the biggest event by them, the first ever Malaysian Bazaar. Thanks to Tsuey Xin Ho (Cultural Officer of MASAT), who first had the idea back in April last year, MASAT has been working on the event real hard. And after the event last week, everyone must have felt, "It really worth the effort".

The event comprises of mainly food stalls and cultures event, plus a traditional game stall and a tourism stall. All sorts of food are being served at very low price, such as Pasembor, Satay, Bak Kut Teh, and Teh Tarik among others. In the game stall, there are Sepak Raga and Congkak game where guests can try to play or watch demo done by one of our own.

Starting around 6pm, dozens and dozens of people rushing in into the Wyclife College, University of Toronto to join the event. Being that the event and even MASAT's objective is to promote Malaysia to the world, it is such a a great thing that about half of the guests came is non-Malaysians. Everyone enjoy the food, the games and also the cultural shows.

Sapro Ritmo, a wonderful traditional band (with the members being a Malay, Indian, Mexican, you name it) came all the way from Hamilton and played all the guests a few great songs such as Getaran Jiwa and La Bamba. Thanks to them, they totally make the crowd excited. Imagine having a delicious dish on your table, with a traditional song in the background. Such a perfect moment.

Then, there's the fashion show. The person in charge, Natasha Shukor has been very creative in having the show using the Malay Bridal concept. Models walking in to the stage wearing all sorts of traditional costume. From the traditional Malay 'Baju Melayu' to the classic Indians 'Sarees'. The popular Chinese 'Cheongsam' to the colorful Iban attire.

As the event ended, there's none of the foods left. That's how passionate the guests are. Such a great event. We hope that this event will be organized by MASAT in the years to come, annually. This year's edition was not perfect but was great enough as the first time being organized here in University of Toronto. We promised you, the next Malaysian Bazaar would be way better than this.

That's it. Thanks to the Malaysian Bazaar 2012 Organizing Committee, everyone who made the event a success (stall managers, cooks, fashion models, etc.) and the guests. See you on the next Malaysian Bazaar hopefully.
